Lions Tour 2025: Melbourne Sport & Beer Tour

From AUD $275.00
  • Duration: 8 Hours (approx.)
  • Product code: BL25SLB

A full day combining Melbourne’s passion for sport with great local beer — the perfect way to spend a day off the rugby.

Discover the venues and sporting traditions that have made Melbourne one of the world’s great sporting cities. Throughout the day, you’ll visit iconic sites, go behind the scenes at Australia’s most famous stadium, and enjoy a relaxed brewery visit to finish.

The tour begins with a drive past some of Melbourne’s best-known sporting landmarks. From a nearby vantage point, you’ll take in Flemington Racecourse, home of the Melbourne Cup — “the race that stops a nation.” We’ll also pass the 2006 Commonwealth Games Village, and follow the route of Melbourne’s Formula 1 Grand Prix circuit around Albert Park.

Next, enjoy a behind-the-scenes tour of the famous Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) — Australia’s most significant stadium, hosting major events since 1853. The MCG has staged Olympic and Commonwealth Games, international cricket, AFL Grand Finals, and countless memorable moments in Australian sport.

Notably, the MCG will host the second Test of the 2025 British & Irish Lions tour against the Wallabies on Saturday, 26 July 2025 — marking the Lions' first-ever match at this iconic venue.

Guided by one of the MCG’s experienced staff, you’ll explore areas not normally accessible on event days, including:

  • The iconic MCC Long Room
  • Player change rooms
  • Cricketers viewing room
  • Ron Casey Media Centre
  • Portrait of Sir Donald Bradman and Sachin Tendulkar
  • A walk onto the arena itself (subject to availability)

After the MCG tour, enjoy lunch and a drink before learning about the brewing process at one of Melbourne's independent craft breweries. Sample a tasting paddle as you discover some of the city’s local favourites.

This full-day experience combines Melbourne’s sporting culture, local beer, and the opportunity to explore parts of the city most visitors don’t see on their own.
